The BGTHA aims to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to travel and global health by bringing together the various disciplines involved in global health and the health of travellers. Our aim is to offer information and education and stimulate research on travel and global health issues.
We welcome nurses, doctors, pharmacists and others involved in travel and travel medicine to join us. In doing so we hope we can work together to provide better patient care and support each other in our work.
The BGTHA is managed by an Executive Committee and the day to day functioning is carried out by sub-committees. All members are eligible to be on a sub-committee and can help in the running of the BGTHA. If members are interested in joining one of the sub-committees please contact us.
Fellowship of the BGTHA is awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to Travel Medicine and/or the BGTHA.
BGTHA produces a journal and a newsletter which are sent out to all members. They are also available for download on the website.
We also have an annual conference which is always a stimulating event. The 2014 conference was held in Edinburgh, and the 2012 and 2013 conferences were both held in Bristol.
