Alex currently works as a Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine and Expedition Medicine in Bristol, whilst she completes the Diploma in Expedition Medicine. She has always had a strong interest in Global Health, Travel Health and Expedition Medicine which was sparked with special interest modules run during her time at Glasgow University. She is also a keen traveller having been to South America, South East Asia, and having trekked in Northern India. In 2013 she co-organised the Students for Global Health conference on “Migration Changing Medicine”. Since then she has completed the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, worked as a SHO in Infectious Diseases, and worked abroad in New Zealand. In July 2017 she worked as an Forest Expedition medic in Fiji before returning to the UK. She has a keen interest in the outdoors, especially hillwalking and mountaineering, and is currently working toward her Mountain Leader Award.
