NECTM – the Northern European Conference on Travel Medicine has been running since 2006. The first conference was held in Edinburgh, and since then Helsinki in 2008, Hamburg in 2010, Dublin in 2012 and Bergen in 2014. Organisation of the conference is a collaboration between 12 national organisations who provide the initial funding of the event.
Each NECTM-member organisation has two representatives – one on the steering group, and one on the scientific committee. The country hosting the conference forms a local organising committee (LOC) which takes responsibility for planning and delivering the event. The BGTHA is the lead organisation for NECTM6, and is working closely with travel health colleagues at RCN and NaTHNaC to produce this year’s conference in London 1-4 June. See nectm.com
